A cross-disciplinary urban space project inspired by Homer

Alas!—We followed the power-drunk Generalissimo Agamemnon to Troy; we fought and battled; through cunning we overcame the Trojans, razed the mighty walls of Ilium, and set its roofs ablaze. Now the war is over, and we want only one thing: to return to Ithaca, back to our wife, the steadfast Penelope, who is besieged by suitors, and to our son Telemachus, who stands on the cliffs, desperately keeping watch for us. But the gods have other plans for us. Poseidon is angry with us and sends us on a seemingly endless odyssey across the seas. A thousand dangers lie ahead, and only the bravest will ultimately make it home …

Together with you, dear audience, we set out on this journey: between Scylla and Charybdis, past the man-eating Laestrygonians and the vengeful Polyphemus, all the way to the island of Circe, which we’ll be so happy to be on that we won’t want to leave. We’ll set out from the theater—quite literally—into the urban space, which we’ll have the pleasure of rediscovering together with you. Drawing on the power of all our artistic disciplines—music, dance, song, and drama—we’ll navigate around the cliffs, and hopefully our odyssey will come to a happy end!
