OFF EUROPA: VZDUCH (LUFT) - TABULA RASA (PRAG)

The performance VZDUCH (LUFT) by the Prague-based artist collective TABULA RASA takes the audience on a journey to a fairytale land full of dragons and other secrets, to a highly artificial theatrical space, equipped with strange objects, disguises, strange sounds and rituals, but also full of dangers. An archaically playful, magically alienated theatrical evening that tells of earthly happiness and delusion, which - sarcastically, almost cynically - criticizes the actions or inactions of Western people as well as a general thoughtlessness in dealing with resources and the natural environment.
TABULA RASA was founded in 2019 as an association of graduates from the fields of production and scenography of alternative and puppet theater at the DAMU University in Prague. "We try to orient ourselves in the contemporary world. Our work, perception and speculation have a certain ecological-philosophical dimension. We use different types of materials. Garbage, things that we give a new meaning to. (...) We don't try to be somehow appellative. We work with poetics, metaphors and an artistic representation of current events. It is a possibility. A tool. The way to refine a common point of view. We invest our time and skills in believing in the whole and the individual. We sit down on a blank page."
