Carolin - a musical star with airs and graces, a permanent crisis and a desire for divorce - flees from the media, management and her husband. She finds the peace she is hoping for on a mountain pasture in the Bavarian Alps - in an inn that has more ghosts than guests. Host: cow farmer Poldi, mother-fixated, Bavarian, a little strange. And suddenly: two people, two worlds, a chaotic journey of self-discovery in lederhosen.

"Oh Alpenglüh'n!" is a madcap musical comedy about loneliness, expectations and what happens when you stand in your own way - peppered with songs from Fräulein Menke to Phantom of the Opera, from pop hits to musicals.

Verena Bonnkirch and Siegmar Tonk shine in a fast-paced carousel of roles - she as a diva (and her husband), he as a farmer (and his dead mother). Benedikt Ivo's direction brings wit, pace and emotion to the stage - without shying away from clichés, but with a clear view of the longing behind the irony.

An evening full of surprising twists and turns, quirky moments - and musical highlights - unfolds between the romance of the Heimatfilm and emotional derailment.
