Trilingual juggling and twisted nostalgia.
The piece OMÂ is a one-woman circus solo, multilingual and multilayered, personal and political. It tells of the imaginary meeting of two grandmothers, one Iranian and one East Frisian. Reason for her granddaughter to deal with the coincidence of her origins and privileges. Trying to juggle categories and twist clichés, she juggles and twists herself, sometimes absurd and funny, sometimes serious and poetic.
Compagnie bolbol was founded in 2020 by Roxana Küwen Arsalan for the creation of the piece OMÂ and is based in the Occitanie region of France. Before and still in parallel, it performs internationally with its short act Twenty Toes and other performances. Cie bolbol is a founding member of the artist* collective La Supérette. With La Supérette, the companies want to make creation and touring more solidary and collective.
