VISITOR INFORMATION

We look forward to a wonderful evening of opera with you, but please note a few important guidelines:

• Glass bottles and beverage cans are not permitted. Beverages in PET bottles (max. 0.5 L) may be brought in.
• Hard, bulky, and dangerous items (umbrellas, parasols, boxes, knives, chains, weapons of any kind, torches, fireworks, sparklers, etc.) are not permitted.
• Bringing any furniture, such as folding chairs, is not permitted. Please bring a seat pad that is no thicker than 8 cm. Air mattresses or similarly thick seating are not permitted.
• Dogs are not permitted on the event grounds.
• There is a general ban on bicycles on the event grounds. Bringing bicycles and strollers onto the grounds is also not permitted (residents are exempt from this rule).
• Restrooms are located outside the event grounds on Residenzstraße and Am Hofgraben. 
• The roundabout at Max-Joseph-Platz has been redesigned—instead of the Isar pebbles, you will now be seated on grass and asphalt surfaces.

GETTING THERE
We recommend traveling by public transportation, bicycle, or on foot. Max-Joseph-Platz is about a five-minute walk from Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz.

Please note that tram lines 19 and 21 will not be operating on the section between Maxmonument and Lenbachplatz during the event on July 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to approximately 11:30 p.m.

BY BIKE
Please do not park bicycles on Maximilianstraße. Bicycle racks are located at Marstallplatz. These can be reached via Alfons-Goppel-Straße.

BY CAR
Access Maximilianstraße via the Altstadtring. Please note that delays may occur at the entrance to the Operngarage, and the underground parking garage will be closed on July 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to approximately 10:15 p.m. Due to construction work, the number of parking spaces there is limited. If possible, please use the parking garage on Thomas-Wimmer-Ring (Hofbräuhaus Parkgarage) instead.
