Orgelkonzert mit Kreuzorganist Holger Gehring | Dresdner Orgelzyklus

This special organ concert as part of the Dresden Organ Cycle invites you to a sonorous evening in the Kreuzkirche on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 20:00. In keeping with the time between Easter and Pentecost, the program has the motto "Decorate the festival with May".

The evening begins at 7:19 pm with the format "Under the floor lamp". Over organ wine, cross organist Holger Gehring talks to Ralf Jehmlich (Jehmlich Orgelbau) about the latest renovation work on the large organ and the resulting new sound possibilities.

The subsequent organ concert builds bridges from the baroque masters Bach, Buxtehude and de Grigny to French modernism. The virtuoso romanticism of Guilmant is followed by meditative sounds by Jean Langlais, which honor the Marian month of May. The glittering finale of the evening in the Dresden organ cycle is the monumental "Te Deum" by Jeanne Demessieux - a feast for all the senses.
