The artwork brings together the traditional cultural “characters” of the Ore Mountains on nine columns made of marble and local stone: a miner and an angel, a nutcracker and a smoking man. The figures were cast by the Ihle brothers in Dresden and form a deliberately “rough-hewn,” lifelike group: a tribute by the artist to the spirits of his homeland that is as humorous as it is affectionate. Following the discussion,Osmar Osten and Matthias Zwargwill read from their book*Hasen im Rausch*—an excursion into intoxication.
