The Easter bonfire is an old custom that originally served to drive away the winter. This tradition is still very popular today: piles of wood are usually piled up on Easter Saturday, which are then lit in the evening in a large gathering. Depending on the size of the pile, a program is held around the fire: Bread on sticks is baked, bands play music and stalls provide hot drinks and tasty treats.

This year, the Easter bonfires in Bremen will mainly take place on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025 . We have put together a few places for you to go. The list will be updated regularly.

• Vegesacker Tonnen-Osterfeuer at the Vegesacker Schützenverein, Hermann-Löns-Straße 16, from 6 pm
• Easter bonfire in Jona, Ev. Jona-Gemeinde - in the garden of the parish hall, Eislebener Str. 58, from 6 pm
• Mahndorf Easter bonfire, Easter bonfire site on Kluvenhagener Straße, from 6.30 pm
• Easter bonfire on the grounds of TC Sebaldsbrück e.V., Wilhelm-Wolters-Str. 89A, 6:30 p.m.
• Allotment garden association "Blüh auf" e.V., Auf den Wettern 1, from 7 p.m.
• Easter bonfire of the Förderverein Gut Varrel e.V., Varreler Feld in Stuhr, from 7 p.m.

• Easter bonfire organized by Wassersportverein Woltmershausen e.V., at the flagpole on Hasenbürener Landstraße, from 7 p.m.
