One week before Easter, the traditional Easter meadow begins in Bremen. From April 11 - 27, there are chocolate strawberries, cream ice cream, grand prizes, an extra dose of adrenaline in the carousels and much more on the Bürgerweide right next to Bremen's main train station. The 200 or so stalls and carousels will be open daily from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., except on Good Friday, April 18, when everything will be closed. On the evening of the opening day, the sky is lit up with a firework display that starts at 9.45 pm. The official opening in the Bayernzelt takes place beforehand at 6 pm.
