Theatrical montage based on Georg Büchner's complete works | world premiere

There are four of them in the room. Placed unquestioningly in a provisional world. At odds or reconciled, searching, finding, loving, despising each other, and always in unifying need: The solution to rigidity! The escape from circumstances! PALAIS ROYAL is a montage of texts and motifs from Georg Büchner's 200-year-old oeuvre. A community comes to light for which old certainties have broken away, but a perspective for the future is not yet recognizable. Restless automatons in the firm grip of an all-encompassing compulsion to produce, but "that's not enough for us!" This sounds familiar. There are performances: Leonce and Lena, Danton's Death, Woyzeck, letters, Lenz, cranial nerves and barbs, forms of life and state, modern working conditions, objects, music and the question of the whereabouts of social equality, human rights, and possibilities for love. After an intensive research phase, Büchner's world view becomes a confrontation with the present and a hopeless free-for-all - "We have to do something!" A poetic evening of theater about the creaking and failure of discontinued models, but also about the dreams of young, well-oiled machines.
