PANTALOONS *live

In the organizer's words:

The Pantaloons come from Slovenia and play a mixture of broken beat, jazz, dubstep and funk with tuba, tenor saxophone, drums, synthesizer and a few other instruments. The trio's music is reminiscent of the "Trubači" brass bands of the Balkans as well as the lively and experimental London jazz scene.

Luka Belič (saxophone), Aljaž Markežič (sousaphone, synthesizer, Ewi) and David Nik Lipovac (drums) met at a jam session in 2016 and immediately realized that there was no other way than to make music together. They released their first EP with acoustic compositions in 2019, after which they explored melodies, rhythms and structures of various electronic music styles with their instruments and released their debut album "Zbounce" in 2022. It sounds excellent and we think: brass and jazz can rave very well together. Seriously.

The trio has toured all over Europe and opened for Kamaal Williams at the Ment Festival in Ljubljana, played at Liverpool Sound City Festival and Electric Castle Festival in 2020 and 2021, played at Jazz in The Park Romania, Flaam Festival (Slovakia), Brussels Jazz Weekend, HOP POP HOP (France) and many other festivals all over Europe.
