PARRA FOR CUVA - AUSVERKAUFT !!!

In the organizer's words:

If there is one word that sums up the sound of Parra for Cuva, it is "wanderlust". His music has become known above all for its openness to the world - a magical terrain in which Caribbean steel drums meet ancient instruments from Zimbabwe and melodic electronic soundscapes transport the mind to faraway places. It is this sense of openness that the German electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist has cultivated from the outset, and even as his skills become more refined and his sound more mature, the music of Parra for Cuva retains that somnambulistic quality that is hard to resist.
Born in 1991, Nicolas Janco was fascinated by sound from an early age. His first studio was in his childhood bedroom in Northeim, a small town in Germany, where two rudimentary speakers and a midi piano stood among his toys. He began his musical journey with classical piano, but his enthusiasm soon led him to forays into hip-hop, jazz, pop and indie. And even when he discovered electronic music and moved to Berlin shortly afterwards to study and start a career as a producer, his journey with different instruments and musical languages was just the beginning. The variety of instruments in his studio - from bells and flutes to kalimbas and percussion of all kinds - makes it clear how much of a sound explorer Nicolas is.
Although he had already earned a loyal following with chart-topping singles and two highly acclaimed albums, Majouré (2014) and Darwîś (2016), it wasn't until the release of Paspatou in 2018 that the name Parra for Cuva became inextricably linked with the feeling of wanderlust, and his unique production style became instantly recognizable around the world. Named after the butler in Jules Verne's Around The World In 80 Days, Paspatou mixed field recordings and samples, trippy modulations and reverbs with sections where Nicolas tinkered with a new instrument or gadget to create an emotionally charged journey full of subtle twists and turns. Paspatou has given Parra for Cuva a unique position as an artist unafraid to mix dancefloor experimentation with acoustic and ethnic soundscapes.
His fourth studio album Juno, released in 2021, took his global perspective even further by incorporating seven musicians from around the world, many of whom Nicolas met online and collaborated with remotely. Juno showed that Berlin's electronic music scene had more to offer than just hard electronica and techno. Juno's sound world was closer to the output of contemporaries like Christian Löffler and Max Cooper, who infuse their electronic productions with warm, often melancholic, analog sounds. With this album, Parra for Cuva has shown that it is possible to create journeys that work just as well on the dancefloor as they do at home or even on the street.
Parra for Cuva has performed at some of the most famous festivals and sold-out stages in the world, including Burning Man, Sziget, Fusion, Koko London or Concourse Project in Austin. His music was used as the soundtrack for the Netflix TV series The Umbrella Academy and subsequently landed in the top 30 of the Shazam Global Charts. In 2023, he remixed the track Turning Away by Monolink and Light of Day by Odesza with Ólafur Arnalds. His new, fourth studio album Mimose is scheduled for release in spring 2024. The album continues Parra for Cuva's avid exploration of sounds in a surprising and sensitive journey that combines haunting vocals, choral singing, groovy bass lines, trance-inducing shakers and many exciting collaborations.

We are delighted to be able to present Parra For Cuva and his new album to you twice. On May 1st in Hamburg at Mojo Club and on May 2nd in Cologne at Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld.
