Partial Lunar Eclipse on August 28, 2026 
In the very early morning hours of August 28, the Moon will enter the Earth’s shadow. The partial phase of the lunar eclipse begins at 4:33 a.m. at an altitude of just over 14 degrees; the maximum will occur at 6:12 a.m. (just under 3°), and the Moon will set in the southwest at 6:35 a.m. (data for Metalhenge). Therefore, an unobstructed view of the horizon is absolutely essential—a view that Metalhenge offers particularly well.

Metalhenge in Bremen is a publicly accessible art installation created in collaboration with Die Bremer Stadtreinigung, artist Thomas Roth, and Dieter Vornholz of the Olbers Planetarium. It is located on the first reclaimed section of the Blockland landfill and combines astronomy, recycling, and landscape design to create a unique destination.
