Workshop introducing the digital archive of the independent performing arts

Anyone active in the independent performing arts community collects countless memories over the years - in their hearts and minds, in cellars and boxes. You don't want all that to get lost? The performingarchive.org platform can help you! You can upload digital material there free of charge, describe it and link it to the data of other users. In the workshop, you will receive an introduction to this new tool and learn how to digitize analogue material properly. The initiative for this new online archive began at the 2013 Impulses. Some objects from the history of the festival can already be found on the platform. And anyone can add more! What potential lies in this collective preservation of cultural heritage? Sascha Förster from the Theatermuseum Düsseldorf will begin the workshop by reporting on how new forms of archiving and collecting can inspire the work of existing institutions.

Prerequisite for participation: your own laptop or tablet and an object whose history you want to share with others online.
