As the festival draws to a close, Peter Licht once again makes a strong exclamation mark - absurd, poetic and with the certainty that we will all have had to endure quite a lot.

"Because today is the day on which the age of pure pop has begun. The age of pure capitalism. Of pure performance. And performance knows no bite inhibition and no morality. Morality has a memory. But this is the pure future. And the future knows no rules, it only knows success."

Peter Licht confronts the impositions of daily life, the fundamental un/okay-ness of the world, the mini-catastrophes and mega-details. He creates models for explaining the world and produces a long-lasting mental cinema of reality - poetic, grotesque, profound and loving. Because where reality rules, the absurd is in fashion.

Peter Licht became famous in 2001 with the song "Sonnendeck". This was followed by books, albums and plays, including "Wir werden siegen - Buch vom Ende des Kapitalismus" and "Die Geschichte meiner Einschätzung am Anfang des 3. Jahrtausends", which won the Audience Award and the 3sat Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition. Most recently, the novel "Ja okay, aber" (2021) and the studio album "ALLES KLAR" (2024) were published.
