Pflanzfestival Herbst 2024: "Stadt und Wald"

The "City and Forest" planting festival of GELEBTE NACHBARSCHAFT, the main project of Chemnitz 2025, will take place from November 3 to 10, 2024. During this week, 200 apple trees will be planted, cared for and celebrated at 11 locations in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region. Around 20 planting partners - including citizens, schools, parishes, associations such as BUND and NABU as well as local companies - are taking part in the campaign. The festival will open on November 3 at the Hartmannfabrik (Fabrikstr. 11). The event starts at 12 noon with music by LASCA FOX on an emission-free bicycle trailer. The day will be accompanied by short yoga classes, artistic offerings, excursions and talks about apple trees, urban greenery and local history. The opening program ends at 5 pm in the Botanical Garden.

From November 4 to 10, various planting events will take place in which interested parties can actively participate. On November 8, for example, children from the Campulino daycare center and the Chemnitz-Zwickau Student Union will be planting trees together on the Reichenhainer Straße campus. A special highlight awaits visitors on November 9: a mini-concert by the band office and a barbecue event at Brühl. The event will conclude with a winter festival at the Jutta Müller Ice Sports Center on November 10, offering winter activities from 10 am to 6 pm.
