Picture This on tour in Germany in fall 2026

There are careers that seem like carefully planned projects - and those that have an almost mythical coincidence about them. In the case of Picture This, it all began with a shaky iPhone video from Athy, Ireland, a place the band members describe in retrospect as a "gray in-between zone full of weird characters". Ryan Hennessy, then more of a footballer than a musician, sings a self-written song into the cell phone camera. "Take My Hand" went viral overnight - and launched one of the most remarkable Irish pop careers of the past decade.

Drummer Jimmy Rainsford, burnt out from touring and back at home, recognizes a rare, raw talent in Hennessy's voice. A phone call follows, then the first recordings together, and finally Owen Cardiff and Cliff Deane join in. What began in rural Athy grew rapidly beyond the country's borders: number 1 albums, sold-out halls, anthemic songs that combine intimate feelings with stadium-ready power. Despite its pop appeal, her music remains imbued with the emotional directness that characterizes many Irish artists - the courage to tell stories of pain and hope without filters.

This sensitivity is also evident in the new single release "Yours Forever", which was released on October 10. A break-up ballad that captures the quiet, almost embarrassing moment in which you know: the other person has long since moved on, but your own heart lags helplessly behind. "Know you're no longer mine / But I'll be yours forever" is not a pathetic vow, but the admission of a feeling that remains, no matter how hard you fight it.

But Picture This only become truly indomitable live. After over 30 summer shows in Europe, an Australian tour and, most recently, 45,000 tickets sold in under an hour for their Christmas concerts in Belfast and Dublin, one thing is certain: this band has made the leap from intimate cell phone recording to major pop-rock eruption. Their shows are like collective acts of liberation, carried by Hennessy's glassy voice, Rainsford's unwavering drive and the unfiltered energy of a band that knows exactly what it can mean to people.
