Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer, peace researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg (IFSH), Vered Berman, peace activist, Parents Circle - Families Forum (Berlin), and Amelie Overmann, peace and security officer at Bread for the World, talk about the hurdles and the path to peace. The event will be moderated by Klaus Schneider, Bayern 2.

About the speakers:

Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer, peace researcher, Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg (IFSH)
Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer studies peacebuilding strategies and peace perspectives in Europe and Eurasia. Her focus is on local peace in non-Western orders. She is currently researching peace processes among and with refugees in the project Doing Peace!

Vered Berman, peace activist, Parents Circle - Families Forum (Berlin)
Vered Berman grew up in West Jerusalem and has been committed to peace between Israel and Palestine since her youth. In 2003, she lost her mother in a Hamas suicide bombing. Today she works together with Palestinian and Israeli bereaved families in the Parents Circle - Families Forum to promote dialog and reconciliation between the two societies.

Amelie Overmann, Peace and Security Officer, Bread for the World
Amelie Overmann is a trained peace mediator and worked for seven years in the German Bundestag in the area of foreign and development policy. Before joining Bread for the World, she headed a peace mediation project at the Center for International Peace Operations. She has extensive experience in peace and security policy and has gained practical insights in Kenya, India, Colombia, Mexico and Bougainville, among others.
