An evening of literary delights with Benedikt Vermeer

Poetic delicacies is a literary evening for all those who not only want to hear texts, but also experience them - entertaining, accessible and accompanied by a small, fine tasting.

Together with the actor and speaker Benedikt Vermeer, an intimate literary salon will be created at Heimathaven:
Selected texts will be read, performed and commented on, accompanied by a curated tasting in 6 small courses - 3 drinks and 3 fine tasting snacks from the Heimathaven range, thematically matched to the respective evening.

What you can expect:

• an entertaining literary evening, even without prior knowledge

• Humor, zeitgeist and clever observations

• an accompanying tasting that rounds off the evening - not overrides it

• not a lecture, not school material - but listening, smiling, rediscovering

An evening based on Heinrich Spoerl - between nostalgia, humor and social satire

The content of this evening is based on the book "Die Feuerzangenbowle", not the movie.
The focus is on the tone, humor and world of Heinrich Spoerl: school days, authority, memories and the longing for light-heartedness.

Literary focus:

• Excerpts and motifs from Die Feuerzangenbowle

• Humorous reflections on school, adulthood and looking back

• Nostalgia with a twinkle in the eye, without slapstick

The accompanying tasting picks up on the wintry, convivial atmosphere of the book - warming, round, restrainedly staged.

✍️ February 12 - Kurt Tucholsky

Sharp-witted, funny, frighteningly topical

Kurt Tucholsky was one of the most brilliant observers of his time - political, ironic, uncompromising.
This evening shows him alive and accessible, beyond textbooks and walls of quotes.

Literary focus:

• Satires, poems and short texts

• Humor with attitude

• Observations on society, morality and power

Benedikt Vermeer reads, comments and classifies - comprehensibly, pointedly, without pointing a finger.
The tasting accompanies the evening in a clearly structured and deliberately contrasting way.

😄 March 5 - Eugen Roth

Subtle humor about the small weaknesses of mankind

Eugen Roth takes a loving look at people.
His short texts are easily accessible, accurate and often surprisingly profound.

The themes are:

• everyday observations

• human idiosyncrasies

• Humor without malice, but with a fine bite

An evening that begins lightly and lingers for a long time.
The tasting is correspondingly playful, finely tuned and unobtrusive.

🧒 April 16 - Erich Kästner

"When I was a little boy" - memories, childhood, attitude
