The Poets' Corner reading series is part of the Poesiefestival Berlin and takes place from May 26 to June 2. Berlin poets will read and perform across the city, opening up temporary new spaces for poetry.
How can new ways of speaking and language be found when the
when the previous ones only ever tell the same story? What realities, actual and possible, exist alongside the one reality declared to be true and valid? And how do we finally fall in love with ambivalence? With equal pleasure in play and creative destruction, the poets of the evening break with rhythms and narrative patterns in order to bend bodies and history and make experiences beyond the white, male, heteronormative system sayable. They remember, speculate, sample, rewrite and overwrite, step out, only to go even deeper in the next step. Down here, inside the language, where jazz, punk and hip-hop bubble, maybe something can be found, maybe this is where it can begin.
