Point No Point

POINT NO POINT is the former solo project of Berlin-based musician Jana Sotzko (who also plays with Dropout Patrol, Halfsilks, Soft Grid, among others). To date, she has released two albums (Drift, 2019, and Bad Vibes In Mushroom Forest, 2022) on Späti Palace and Katuktu Collective. The project has since evolved into a full-fledged band with its own unique dynamic and a penchant for improvising new versions of the recordings. The group includes Karen Thompson (Gym Tonic, Halfsilks, Bella and the Bizarre, among others), Robin Harder (Elmar), and Simón Castro Gana (Uyuy). Oscillating somewhere between pop, krautrock, and post-punk, they have already performed in this lineup at numerous clubs as well as at festivals such as the Torstraßenfestival and Fusion. In March 2025, the EP “Haus ohne Schatten” was released on Ichi Ichi (Frankfurt am Main). It was recorded entirely by the live band for the first time last year and therefore has a more raw and unpolished feel than the two previous albums. Closer to their live sound than ever before, it features six songs recorded over two days at Berlin’s Butterama Studio—songs about lunar landscapes, growing up in East Berlin, and sex as underwater creatures.

Crocuta: We sure have a passion for weird harmonies and crooked cycles. Relentlessly switching from hard-hitting guitars and drums to rather melodic parts. A dear listener once described us as “warpaint” after listening to too much prog music.
