Politische Gefangene in Belarus
In the organizer's words:
The human rights situation in Belarus is catastrophic.
Critical voices, activists and human rights defenders are silenced, imprisoned and punished. According to the Viasna Human Rights Center, 839 people are currently unjustly imprisoned for political reasons.
We, the representatives of the human rights organizations Amnesty International and LIBERECO, together with the Peaceful Revolution Foundation, invite you to a themed evening on political prisoners in Belarus.
Our guest is the translator and former political prisoner Siarhei Paulavitski, who will give a keynote speech. We will then hold a panel discussion and invite you to join the debate. Afterwards we will write letters to political prisoners in Belarus. All materials and addresses will be provided and the letters can be translated if necessary.
During the event, you can also visit the poster exhibition of the artist Xisha Angelova, which was provided by the organization 100x Solidarity.
Everyone is welcome - regardless of language skills - to come together in a warm and supportive atmosphere to set a sign of hope and solidarity.
Free admission. The event will be held in German.
