The Polkaspatzen, a small ensemble from the Hessian Symphonic Wind Orchestra, blend Bohemian brass music with Hessian charm. With great enthusiasm, the musicians perform polkas, marches, and waltzes ranging from classical pieces to works from the modern brass music scene. The program includes works by Ernst Mosch, Mathias Rauch, Markus Netwich, and Peter Schad, as well as a Hessian interpretation of “Fraa Rauscher aus de Klappergass.” Inspired by the atmosphere of the “Woodstock of Brass Music,” the result is a concert full of tradition, humor, and rousing melodies—true to the motto: Hesse can do polka, too!
