Streichtrio Classico: Klassik pur
In the organizer's words:
The Classical period shaped the music of the 18th and early 19th centuries through its clarity and formal structure. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Joseph Haydn were among the most important composers of this era. Haydn is regarded as a pioneer of Classical chamber music and played a decisive role in further developing many of its forms. Franz Schubert built upon the Classical tradition and combined it with new, Romantic modes of expression. An important genre of chamber music is the string trio, consisting of violin, viola, and cello. The Classico String Trio, featuring Elvira Janocha (violin), Claudia Drechsler (viola), and Maike Kunstreich (cello), performs works by Haydn, Mozart, von Dittersdorf, and Schubert.
