Frankfurt singer NI-KA is special guest with the hr-Bigband

In Frankfurt she is regarded as the new voice of soul, Moses Pelham even considers her to be one of the "best singers in Germany". Now the hr big band has invited newcomer NI-KA to its "Pop Goes Big" series. On Thursday, April 23, 2026, she will join the jazz formation on stage at Frankfurt's Batschkapp and present her songs with a jazz orchestral sound. Advance ticket sales start now.

Full of soul and so moving. I'm still very happy that NI-KA did me the favor of singing on my final album "Letzte Worte"," says Moses Pelham. He is looking forward to the concert with the hr-Bigband: "I am delighted that other people in our city are also recognizing her extraordinary abilities and I am excited to hear how her pieces sound together with the hr-Bigband."

She always wanted to sing, African-American voices influenced her early on. So she went from gospel choir to singing lessons and later moved to Frankfurt, her "place to shine", as she says herself. Her debut album "Anni" was released in August 2024, featuring the finest soul singing with German lyrics and hints of jazz and hip-hop. She became known to a wider audience through her participation in the preliminary round of ESC 2025. Now she joins the list of well-known pop stars who have already played with the hr-Bigband in the "Pop Goes Big" format: Stefanie Heinzmann, Frida Gold, Alice Merton, Joy Denalane, Clueso, Max Mutzke, Laith Al-Deen and many more.
