In the organizer's words:
No. 14 at the Scala!
PowerPoint Karaoke is a satire on the everyday PowerPoint madness in the office or lecture hall: Presenters boldly face the audience and the challenge of taking the stage to deliver an impromptu presentation—lasting no more than six minutes—based on a PowerPoint slide they’ve never seen before, pulled from the internet.
Neither they nor the audience find out exactly what the presentation is about until it begins. Whether they’re given a treatise on Schrödinger’s cat, the Durmersheim Volunteer Fire Department’s fire and accident prevention guidelines, or a bachelor party presentation titled “Today Basti, Tomorrow Knasti” is purely a matter of chance.
After each presentation, there’s an opportunity for questions from the floor. The presenters are giving it their all, because in the end, the audience decides—based on the volume of their applause—who delivered the most original and funniest presentation. Two preliminary rounds and a final will determine who is the best at improvising, who has won over the audience, and who will win the first PowerPoint Karaoke at the Scala.
Johannes Elster will host the evening.
