PRE_INVENT Chapter XI: on knowledge or beyond (un)tangleability of the Department of Photography will take place from January 7-9, 2026

Following the global AI hype of 2025, the PRE_INVENT Chapter XI conference "on knowledge or beyond (un)tangleability" brings together artists, scientists and philosophers to critically question the new infrastructures of knowledge and power shaped by artificial intelligence.

The event, which takes place at the K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen and the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, poses the questions: How can artistic and scientific research maintain their independence and generate new knowledge while the logic of AI takes up more and more space? What possibilities arise for activist science and artistic resistance?

The program, which will be held in English, will begin on January 7, 2026 with a film screening of "Watching You - The World of Palantir and Alex Karp" at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.

The symposium on January 8 and 9, 2026 in Salon 21 of the K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen offers lectures by international experts and artists.
