"Look and act" is the motto under which over 160 authors took part in the latest call for entries for the Konstantin Andok Literature Prize. The prize commemorates Konstantin Gedig (1995-2019), who fought for a fairer world in Rojava, and honors literary voices that do not resign themselves to violence, turning a blind eye and indifference. The winners are Christoph Hein (born 1990, not to be confused with his prominent namesake) with a story about alienation, origins and the quiet gestures of rapprochement, Marcus Neuert with a documentary-like, polyphonic text about the fate of a failed child and Katja Wilhelm with a text about a visit to a nursing home and the fear of one's own disappearance.
