Free street festival in Rüttenscheid - Project Rüttenscheid on July 05 and 06 in Essen

The reinterpretation of the Rü-Fest "Projekt Rüttenscheid" is entering its second round this year. The event is organized by the Essen meme site essendiese and the owner of the Kokille, Nicolai Duys, in close cooperation with companies from Essen, such as E.ON and Sparkasse. The event begins on Friday, July 5 and ends on Saturday, July 6.

On Friday, the program will take place exclusively in the parking lot on Martinstraße. The site opens at 16:00 and closes at 23:00. There will be live performances by the singer Dueja at 18:00, the Essen band Banda Senderos at 19:15 and the indie-pop artist Nand at 21:00.

On Saturday, the festival will take place between 11:00 and 24:00 on a street section of just under 1 km (from REWE to Hans im Glück). A varied music program awaits all visitors on a total of five stages. Whether indie pop and hip hop on the E.ON Power Stage, house and techno on the electronic stage, well-known pop songs on the Pop Stage, 80s rock, college rock and rockabilly on the Rock Stage or colorful pop songs on the Lila Stage: there is something for everyone - young and old. The artists range from local newcomers from Essen to stars known throughout Germany, such as the rapper and singer Jamule. For families and children, there is a children's area with bouncy castles, face painting and crafts, soccer darts, carousels and many other activities. The Rüttenscheid project offers a wide range of culinary delights. Many restaurateurs from Rüttenscheid and beyond will be on hand to offer their delicious specialties. "From bratwurst to chips and burgers to Turkish pastries, we want to show how diverse food is," says Leon from essendiese.

The organizers want to improve cultural life in Essen with their event. To this end, they have gained the city of Essen as an official partner. The Lord Mayor, Thomas Kufen, will once again address the guests this year together with Dr. Stephan Muschick (Vice President Corporate Citizenship E.ON SE). However, corporate partners are also essential in order to realize such a project. "We are delighted that we can offer such a high-quality line-up and that people don't have to pay admission.
