Brooklyn's Psymon Spine merges psychedelic pop with dance grooves, creating immediately melodic yet unconventional music. Core members Noah Prebish and Peter Spears, inspired by Talking Heads and Os Mutantes, formed the experimental pop outfit in college. They aimed for experimental yet accessible music, later joined by keyboardist/producer Brother Michael. Prebish, from dream-pop band Barrie, connected with singer Sabine Holler, completing the trio. Their debut, "You Are Coming to My Birthday" (2017), uniquely fuses disco, techno, and motorik. Psymon Spine explores left-field electronic sounds, defining their distinctive approach to dance music with lush synth work.
