Once a month, radio3 (rbb) invites you to listen to music together and discover new things - in the middle of Berlin, under the S-Bahn arches of Friedrichstraße. Upstairs the train rattles, downstairs there are exquisite drinks and extraordinary recordings in an intimate atmosphere and brilliant sound.
On May 18, Henrike Leißner has invited the Berlin singer Theresa Kronthaler. The mezzo-soprano regularly appears on opera stages throughout Europe. Her trademark: A voluminous, crystal-clear voice and a repertoire without epochal boundaries. She sings music from the baroque, classical, romantic and modern eras, contemporary music, rock and pop - sometimes even simultaneously! In addition to her career as a successful opera singer, she also fronts the band "Kronthaler", with whom she specializes in extremely sophisticated arrangements: Sometimes a rock classic develops into an aria-like vocal work of art and music from an opera from 1600 becomes a pop song with hip-swinging potential.
What music does the singer choose for the radio3 Listening Lounge?
