Radlhack / Tech Meeting MunichWays - Goals & Architecture 2026

How can we make the technical foundations of MunichWays 2026 more robust, efficient and collaboratively maintainable?
The evening will focus on typical challenges from our work to date:

• High manual effort in maintaining and updating the data
• Dependence on individuals for central areas
• Limited scalability of maps, apps and workflows

Building on this, we will look together at our goals for 2026, including

• Further development of GeoJSON creation via Python scripts
• Greater automation of our uMap maps
• Complete replacement of Carto
• Further development of the MunichWays app

We will present existing approaches, discuss open questions and consider together how we can organize technology, data and collaboration sustainably.
