Rafael Toral describes his music as "melodic without notes, rhythmic without a beat, familiar yet strange, meticulous yet radically free - full of paradoxes, but also full of clarity and space". His latest album Spectral Evolution brings together rock, ambient, electronic and free jazz music to create a powerful new synthesis that is both wildly experimental and emotionally moving.
