Earthy and distinctive, infused with soul: That is Ida Sand's voice. She came into contact with the local church choirs and the classical music of her parents at an early age, but then fell for the irresistible voices of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and Aretha Franklin. Her own music incorporates jazz, pop and folk influences in equal measure. Ida's band brings the glitter of Scandinavian musical nobility to the Pantheon: Dan Berglund played bass in the Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Per Lindvall was a studio drummer with ABBA. A Swedish gospel confession and a clear commitment to "sweet soul music".
