Thinking critically, questioning the system, disrupting the delusion, even leading the revolution: No other philosophical tradition has influenced the Federal Republic of Germany more profoundly than the so-called Frankfurt School. From its beginnings until the 2010s, the impulses of Walter Benjamin, Theodor W. Adorno, Jürgen Habermas and Axel Honneth shaped the country's discourse. But is this still the case today? Or has the legacy of critical theory outlived its usefulness - in questions of ecology, gender politics, post-colonialism and identity politics?
The philosopher Eva von Redecker ("Bleibefreiheit", "Revolution für das Leben") and the cultural scientist Philipp Felsch ("Der lange Sommer der Theorie", "Der Philosoph - Habermas und wir") discuss the future of critical theory in times of global polycrises. Moderator: Wolfram Eilenberger
