Hardly any other music genre is condemned as quickly as rap —and yet, at the same time, it’s listened to, celebrated, and lived by millions of people. Between luxury, fantasies of violence, and scandals, the picture seems clear. But what happens when you look behind the facade?

This student-curated exhibition takes you into the unfiltered world of rap: from the streets of the Bronx to the German charts. Where gangsta culture, graffiti, and the streets meet luxury, jewelry, and the working class. It sheds light on how an entire music genre can become a political battleground between the left and the right, and what roles women have fought to carve out for themselves in a male-dominated scene. Amid prejudices, performance, and reality, the exhibition poses a central question:
