In the organizer's words:
A colorful singer with a whisker and rhythm guitar, a man in tiger shorts on the double bass, a painted electric guitarist who can read music and a Dutchman in red socks and a broad grin behind the drums: these are the only constants at a Rebel Tell gig. Everything else is subject to the causal law of cause and effect.
Four genuine, authentic guys, four instruments and one mission: these are the ingredients from which the band from the Lower Rhine conjures up its stage show. With a lot of heart and soul, a bit of local "watt" and "datt", a bit of fuss and banter and a lot of closeness to the audience... this is how they present their mix of rockabilly and ska-style pop lyrics. It can get a bit wild at times. The band's stage shows could best be described as creative chaos with a vocal backdrop, because a performance is only good when it contains the necessary amount of escalation.
Singing along is expressly encouraged, no matter how crooked, the bassist definitely sings more crookedly. Dancing is not absolutely necessary, but movement in the broadest sense is required. However, this can hardly be avoided because the rebel sound sometimes tugs almost unpleasantly at the rusty dance legs.
The guys are neither political nor correct. Mistakes and slips are not swept under the carpet, but at best incorporated into the next stage program. First and foremost, it's all about having fun and you get that delivered free of charge. Just let everything "be" and let yourself be carried away by the chaos. Years, pounds, worries and stones fall from your heart.
But the children from the Rhine can also play soft tunes! And they really get under your skin when all four of them celebrate their mission on stage: Spreading more love!
In 2019, Rebel Tell already put the fear of God into Dieter Bohlen at Supertalent and the pop queen herself - Andrea Berg - has been bringing the boys to the stadium in Aspach as the opening act for her home game for several years now. So it's hardly surprising that the launch of the new album "Schlager ist nicht kriminell" was also celebrated on this very stage in July 2022.
The four boys have already conquered the big screen. They have already appeared on "Fernsehgarten" and "Immer wieder Sonntags" with the first song they released, "Krösa Maja".
But the other 14 songs on the album are also worth listening to. In addition to some well-known covers, it also contains songs they have composed themselves, which cover an enormously wide range and thus always have small to medium surprises in store when listening. But what else would you expect from a band that is equally at home at pop nights, rock festivals, large city festivals and open-air concerts.
The fact is: if you get involved with Rebel Tell, you should be prepared for anything!
