OLFA'S DAUGHTER was screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the OEil d'Or for best documentary.

Kaouther Ben Hania tells the true story of Olfa, whose two eldest daughters have disappeared. In order to approach this family story and the developments in Tunisia with the necessary distance, she has three actresses perform and interweaves documentary and fiction in a captivating production. An intimate journey full of hope, rebellion and violence begins, in the course of which tradition, generational conflicts and sisterhood are observed and the foundations of society are questioned.
