Reminiszenz im ersten Akt: Wolfgang Herrndorf

Wolfgang Herrndorf is one of the most important writers of his generation. He captured hearts worldwide with his novel "Tschick", and his early death - the tumor diagnosis, the decision to take his own life - still moves many people today. Tobias Rüther explains who Wolfgang Herrndorf was in his biography "Herrndorf - A Biography", published in 2023. He follows Herrndorf from his childhood in Norderstedt through his art studies in Nuremberg to Berlin - and into his final years with the illness, during which the novels "Sand" and "Pictures of Your Great Love" were written and which Herrndorf recorded in his blog "Work and Structure", a unique chronicle of life and writing.

The Hamburg author and artist Marie-Alice Schultz will host the evening. She is not only enthusiastic about Herrndorf's writing, but also about his art. Above all, however, the work "Arbeit und Struktur" (Work and Structure) had a great influence on her, as she herself aptly says: "Herrndorf's 'Work and Structure' lies next to my bed like a Bible. Whenever I don't know what to do, the book knows."
