Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 A
The rhythmic mania and exuberant fantasy of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony fascinated the American composer John Adams. In "Absolute Jest", he developed an intoxicating trip for orchestra and string quartet from motifs from the Seventh. Anja Bihlmaier and her Residentie Orkest juxtapose Beethoven's symphony with the minimal music piece - an extraordinary Beethovenfest debut.
