RESOLVE is, as the name suggests, an unstoppable unit. Led by singer/songwriter Anthony Diliberto and joined by guitarist Antonin Carré and brothers Nathan and Robin Mariat, drummer and bassist respectively, the quartet has never stopped for a moment since its formation in 2017. This work ethic has helped make the band one of the most popular French exports of the decade. Their second album "Human", released in the fall of 2023, is a journey of self-acceptance, both on a personal level and on a larger scale, a depiction of how we as a species are changing what it means to be human. It's as varied as and showcases the band's attention to detail as much as their flair for an addictive chorus. Since the release of their debut album "Between Me and The Machine" in 2021, the four Frenchmen have been touring relentlessly. For centuries, writers, painters and filmmakers have wanted to travel to the edge of our consciousness. This simultaneously euphoric and nightmarish journey often turns into a powerful, albeit faltering muse. In the making of their second album "Too Far Gone" (Rise Records), CANE HILL also traveled to the edge of their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual perception. They brought back ten unforgettable stories from the abyss, wrapped up in a hook-heavy, metallic grunge swamp. A year of incredible experiences and a handful of mind-expanding substances later, the Louisiana quartet - Elijah Witt (vocals), James Barnett (guitar), Ryan Henriquez (bass), and Devin Clark (drums) - return with a dark and groundbreaking work. "We got too caught up in the big LSD spiral," Witt admits. "A lot of these songs are about a time in our lives when we were really headstrong about drugs and thought we were invincible. It took us a while to realize that we were losing ourselves more and more. I think we were lucky that we realized that before it became a problem. After the incredible success and adulation they received with their stunning debut"Lonely World", an album that blended melody and melancholy to stunningly beautiful effect, ACRES played the biggest shows of their career to date and achieved things they had previously only dreamed of.
But when the world suddenly felt so uncertain around them with the onset of the corona pandemic, they had to decide what to do next. Instead of blurting out something they didn't quite believe in, they locked themselves away and painstakingly created something that not only represented where they were, but also where they wanted to go.
The result is"Burning Throne," a crushing, cathartic and perfectly crafted account of what it means to realize your own mortality and learn from it who you really are. It is not only the band's biggest, but also their most poignant and honest work. HALF ME hail from Hamburg and are one of the new additions to the Arising Empire roster. The band alternates between heart-wrenching breakdowns, brutal riffs and merciless but elegant vocals, while at the same time incorporating 90s nu-metal highlights and audio samples. The five-single debut and the release of "Exitwound" (featuring Jack Bergin of "Void Of Vision") [2021] brought the band into the spotlight of KNOTFEST's "Countdown to Oblivion" and caught the attention of the media. With " Trauma Culture" released later that year, it was "Wraith" and "Half Me" [2022] that led the band to articulate the meaning of brutality and reconciliation in their sound. Provoking diverse reactions from personalities such as Nick Hipa (ex-"As I Lay Dying") , Chris Turner "(Oceans Ate Alaska") and JT Carvey ("ERRA") on Nic Nocturnal's stream, these have rightly propelled the band to the forefront of the international scene. HALF ME have set their sights on releasing their eagerly awaited debut album "Soma" and are certain that it will be worth the wait. The last release "Ex Negativo" with Marcus Lundqvist from "Throw" was released in January 2023.
