THE LONG NIGHT OF MUSIC

ONE CITY - ONE NIGHT - 400 CONCERTS

Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The idea:

95 Munich institutions offer over 400 concerts, presentations, dance classes, performances and many surprises. These include venerable cultural institutions and large stages as well as small pubs, bars, cafés, restaurants, clubs, hotels, 14 churches, eight theaters, five dance schools and two consulates, but also many pop-up stages and unusual concert venues, such as a swimming pool, two sports facilities, two bookstores and two wine shops. Discover not only musical worlds, but also the city!

Hop-On-Hop-Off:

You can visit all the venues with just one ticket. It's up to you to decide where you want to stop by and how long you want to stay - whether you want to take a quick look or enjoy a longer visit, anything is possible.

The MVG shuttle buses make it easy to get from venue to venue. These travel to the houses on four different bus tours every 10 minutes. The hub is Odeonsplatz.

Want a preview? 12 bands on 4 stages alone await guests at the Gasteig HP8, opera, concerts and guided tours are on the program at the Bavarian State Opera, hits at ROY in the Hackerhaus and the ensemble puts in a night shift at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. If you are looking for atmosphere, partying and dancing, you shouldmake a detour to the Alte Rotation in the Pressehaus, the Deutsches Theater, the Night Club of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, or, unusually, to Café Rischart on Marienplatz or to "Rock im Ratskeller" . Classical music awaits guests at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater or at the AGV (Akademischer Gesangverein), jazz at the Brasserie OskarMaria in the Literaturhaus and at the Münchner Künstlerhaus. There is almost no style of music or type of location that is not on offer: How about a night-time visit to one of the numerous pop-up stages such as the Hugendubel bookstore, Müller'sches Volksbad, the MINI Pavilion, where established greats and newcomers alternate, or the JBL STORE Munich? When it comes to music, GEMA is of course not to be missed, offering a stage to three promising up-and-coming bands in its office. But the TU Munich or MTV Munich, the Boxwerk and many, many more have also converted for this evening and are showing what musical treasures they have in store. No matter where the Long Night Route takes you: A dance course at one of the dance schools is highly recommended as preparation or as a refresher in between.

Don't miss the special feature of this music night, the Munich Organ Tour: "Through Vivaldi's Seasons with eight organists" is the motto in eight churches, all of which present a coordinated program.

For the first time this year, the bus shuttle will also be traveling to Giesing, stopping at the Lutherkirche München, the Bürgerinitiative am Halt 58, the Giesinger Bräu pub and the Edelweiss

Price information:

The ticket costs 20 euros plus booking fee and is valid as an admission ticket for the venues and as a ticket for the MVG shuttle buses.
