To mark the release of his latest film "No Other Choice" (available here from February 5, 2026 in both the German dubbed version and the Korean original version), we take a look back at the best works of South Korean master director Park Chan Wook.
Known around the world for the Revenge trilogy, Park first became known as a director of thrillers with explicit depictions of violence. His scene transitions are just as memorable as his camera angles. With digital development, his style changed subtly; no other director knows how to translate the digital age into the visual narrative medium of film so well, as evidenced by his Hitchcockesque neo-noir masterpiece "The Woman in the Mist". But his sensual erotic thriller "The Pickpocket" also shows that this genre is far from over. He celebrated his international breakthrough with "Joint Security Area", which obviously refers to the situation on the Korean-Korean border and already bears all the hallmarks of his ouevre. All of these films can be seen here in both the OmU version and the German dubbed version.
