"Hey everyone,
We are heartbroken Unfortunately we had to come to the decision to postpone our upcoming tour to next year. There are many reasons for this, both creative and personal. In the course of the last year many beautiful, but also very challenging things happened, which meant that not everything could run as we had originally planned.
The best thing first: Ferdinand became a father in spring! Since then we are all part of a wonderful new family, which enriches our lives, but as you can imagine, also turns them upside down. The time we can spend together as a foursome has become rarer. Time that you need as a band, of course, to prepare such a tour, for example.
At the same time, we have been working on new music since the beginning of the year, with which we originally wanted to go on tour, of course. Unfortunately, however, all this also takes longer than planned. In the end, our music is the most valuable thing to us, so we don't want to rush anything here.
We are very sorry to have to take away your anticipation so shortly before the start - the postponement of the tour is terribly difficult for us. But we think it's necessary to finish our new music without stress and to be able to present you the best possible Rikas show afterwards. We hope you understand!
All the more we are happy to inform you about the new dates. The tickets you have already bought will of course remain valid:
Rikas are going on tour again!
After their, critically acclaimed, soul-pop album "Showtime" from 2019, two sold-out tours and festival appearances at MS Dockville, Puls Open Air or Southside Festival, the guys have been busy further. After "Overthinking" and the "Short Stories EP", Rikas 2022 reported back with new music, which heralded the beginning of a new era for the quartet.
"Goodbye Sunshine" is the title of the latest EP. And it comes at just the right time. Because finally the spirit of this band born for the stage is activated again, finally they are allowed to bring their brilliant live show back to the stages of the world. And with this in mind, the new tracks have been created. Compared to the band's previous releases, "Goodbye Sunshine" appears in a new color palette, almost as if the band had deliberately reduced the saturation for once. You can hear a melancholy and vastness that touches in a beautiful way. It was probably their trip to Los Angeles in March 2022 that breathed new life into the band. Here they found themselves in the studio with none other than producer and musician Jonathan Rado, who has worked with artists* like Weyes Blood, The Killers, Whitney or The Lemon Twigs.
Four cosmopolitans are on their way to play every field in the world. Because before they go on a big headline tour through Europe, they will play their first gigs in the USA in March, among others at the legendary SXSW in Austin, Texas. With numerous songs on rotation throughout Europe as well as over 25 million streams on Spotify, Rikas are slowly but surely establishing themselves as one of the most sought-after music exports from Germany. Why? It's simple: Rikas' music moves you and makes you happy!
