Roberto Bossard sees himself as a guitarist with roots in the jazz tradition, without neglecting the present and its current style of playing.
For over 45 years, his guitar playing has brought him together with jazz greats time and again: Vince Benedetti, Wiliam Evans, Reggie Johnson, Albert Mangelsdorf, Sal Nistico, Simon Nabatov, Mark Soskin, Nils Wogram, Gene Perla, Jarmo Savolainen, Jari Perkiomaki, among others.
Roberto Bossard works with his own bands, but is also a sought-after sideman, orchestra and studio musician.
In 1999 he was "Jazz Reader Poll Winner" of the jazz magazine "Jazz & Culture" as best Swiss jazz guitarist 1998.
