Man or machine? The Robots of the 80s build an electrifying bridge between these worlds. Their sound combines the iconic aesthetics of 80s synthpop (Propaganda, Human League) with contemporary drive and carries on the tradition of the Kraftwerk pioneers in a surprisingly fresh way.

Two robots - Xaio and Rael - and bassist David L. (ex DBA, Dreadmaxx) together form an extraordinary concept art project, created by Heiko Wersing, scientist, musician and creative driving force. More than 20 years of robotics research meet the musical DNA of a founding member of the German gothic band The Escape. Following the success of their debut album Chance of a Lifetime, Daniel Flores (Co-chief editor Rolling Stone Latin America & Spain) describes the band as "faster paced, more playful, more energetic" than many of their classical influences. A highlight: the animated video for the successful single "I Want to Be" was selected for the Oscar-nominated American Documentary and Animation Festival 2024. Live, Robots of the 80s transform every stage into an immersive experience: a powerful, crystal-clear sound, a striking stage design and the spectacular LED suit of front robot Xaio (Heiko), which visually sets everything in motion with its dynamic patterns and colors.

With the concert in Frankfurt, the Robots are celebrating the release of their second album Logic Drama. New depth is created by bassist David L. and the haunting vocals of Sylvia Wersing(Chorusgirl) on the singles "Elevate" and "Klara". The video for "Elevate", produced by award-winning video artist Lorenz Foth, poses the question that characterizes our time: "Where do we stand - between humans, robots and AI?"

Support: Voltarenes are a minimal wave trio that has been active, but mostly inactive, at various locations between Hamburg-Altona and Munich since 2004. Their English-language debut album "Proceedings" was released in 2009 and included the song "Altona City", which had a short career as a fansong for the soccer club Altona 93. This was followed in 2012 by the German-language second album "924", a concept album about the Porsche model of the same name, for which the band members had specially purchased the corresponding vehicles. A car mechanic is therefore also mentioned in the liner notes.Voltarenes then disappeared from the scene for 10 years, only to reappear out of nowhere in 2023 with a handful of new songs for a concert. These songs were then produced with electronic legend Matthias Schuster (Geisterfahrer, Bal Paré, Im Namen des Volkes) in Hamburg's Geisterfahrer studio and released in November 2024 as a digital EP and limited edition 7" on the ant-zen label.
