[Romperayo sounds like a fast-paced musical journey through the tropical folklore of Colombia, a mischievous and modern interpretation of the psychedelic sounds of 70s cumbia and other tropical rhythms. Look forward to a musical firework display that will not only get your hips and feet moving, but also put your brain in a blissful mood. Romperayo is part of the new Colombian music scene, which reinterprets its roots in a fascinating way and combines traditional rhythms with modern electronics. It borders on outright craziness, but at the same time is very danceable and full of musical humor. Other bands from this scene include Meridian Brothers, Frente Cumbiero and Los Pirañas. Pedro Ojeda, drummer of Romperayo, also happens to be the drummer of Los Pirañas.
