The Red Sofa with shooting club boss Andreas-Paul Stieber
Andreas-Paul Stieber has been the new head of the St. Seb. Schützenverein Düsseldorf 1316 e.V. since December 2023 - and is therefore responsible for Düsseldorf's largest shooting club and also for the Rhine Fair. Stieber is therefore the perfect guest for the first edition of the Red Sofa in the new year, which will take place at the same time as the farewell to the special exhibition Miteinander Rheinkirmes on February 24, 7 pm. The Red Sofa is the TMD Theatermuseum Hofgartenhaus Düsseldorf's long-standing discussion format with people from Düsseldorf's art and culture scene, which is taking place again for the first time after a somewhat longer break.
Stieber has been a member of the St. Sebastians for 10 years and is also a member of the 1st Reserve Platoon. He became regimental king in 2015, has been a member of the board since 2017 and has now been head marksman for several months. While the winter custom has just come to an end, Düsseldorf is slowly preparing for its summer custom. In an interview with Sascha Förster, Andreas-Paul Stieber talks about his plans for the future of the shooting club, but also reflects on the special features of this custom. What do community and tradition mean in the 21st century? How can marksmen become more visible in urban society? And what role can the Rhine fair play in this?
