A sweating dervish behind the organs, squeezing the grittiest punk out of the Hammond and cushioning it with plenty of SOUL.

"Blood on the Keys" is the name of the latest LP by Leg, who grew up on the Texas coast as John Wesley Myers. He didn't quite want to follow in his father's footsteps, as the preacher's son had his own plans early on. Psychedelic soul jams are much more his thing. Sitting at the Fender Rhodes, he gets everything out of it and also out of himself. You could be forgiven for thinking that Howlin' Wolf and Tom Waits had come together to form a garage rock band, because his whiskey-soaked voice is steeped in a thousand years of life and an incomparable
rugged charm.

James Leg has already given us two unforgettable Tuesday nights, and this night will be no different.
