Ruhrorter Campusabende: René Steinberg und Doc Esser mit "Lachen und die beste Medizin"

Duisburg has a new cultural festival: The four major “K”s— cabaret, comedy, concerts, and children’s theater—are coming to Duisburg-Ruhrort—to one of the district’s most beautiful venues, the Haniel Campus. And it’s an open-air event.

From July 2 to 26, 2026, the Haniel Campus in Duisburg-Ruhrort will host a top-notch festival featuring seventeen diverse events that are sure to delight culture lovers.

On Friday, July 17, comedian René Steinberg and TV doctor Doc Esser will take the stage on campus with their infotainment program “Laughter and the Best Medicine.” A cabaret artist and a pulmonologist come together to embark on a quest: How can one live a healthy and happy life without letting one’s inner slacker get the better of you? All in all, the cabaret artist and the physician are surely united by the insight underlying this experimental quest: Laughter is the best medicine—not least because laughter engages 300 muscles, 17 of which are in the face.
